James E. Harrison, 74, of Xenia, passed away Monday afternoon after complications following surgery. He was born February 28, 1934, in Dayton, the son of Herbert E. and Ethel Sparks Harrison. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, a veteran of the US Air Force and Navy, retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1992, and from the Air Force Reserve in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joanne (Miller) Harrison, five sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Susan (Wourms) Harrison, Jr., New Lebanon, Thomas E. (Gina Leeth) Harrison, Oklahoma City, OK, Michael A. (Michelle Allamang) Harrison, Xenia, Jeffrey M. Harrison, Xenia, and Patrick J. (Robin Christian) Harrison, New Lebanon, 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary L. (Jerry) Dix, Dayton, a brother-in-law, Joe (Mary) Soldan, Frederickburg, VA, and a sister-in-law, Patty Davis, Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara Ann Harrison, and a brother-in-law, Willy Davis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at St. Brigid Church, Xenia, with Rev. Kenneth Schartz officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
