IN MEMORY OF LT. COL. ROBERT T. HART Lt. Col. Robert T. Hart, age 78, of Wilmington, Ohio died 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife, Margaret Eloise Hart, whom he married April 6, 1947, survives. Lt. Col. Hart was born March 13, 1925 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late Tan and Kate Cook Hart. He was a graduate of Fulton High School in Kentucky, where he played football and basketball. Mr. Hart was a retired lieutenant colonel from the United States Air Force. A veteran of World War II, he was a two-time member of the Caterpillar Club, a recognition earned when a pilot jumps from his plane when it is shot down. He was first shot down on May 8, 1944 and then again on May 16, 1944. Lt. Col. Hart was captured after being shot down the second time and was a prisoner of war for 11 months. He was a member of The Buckeye Wing (formerly known as the 302nd TAW Clinton County Air Force Base) and the 398th Bomb Group - W.W.II B17 Reunion Organization. He was a 50-year member of the F&AM Minerva Lodge #98 and the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. In addition to his wife, Lt. Col. Hart is survived by two sons, Gregory (Peggy) Hart of Wilmington, Ohio and Steven (Linda) Hart of Kennesaw, Georgia; a daughter, Kathleen (Alan Krulisch) Hart of Arlington, Virginia; four grandchildren, Christopher Hart of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Hart of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lucas Hart of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Madison Hart of Kennesaw, Georgia; and his beloved dog, April. In addition to his parents, a brother, Jack Hart, is preceded in death. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S.A.F. Memorial Squad from Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the American Legion Post 49 Memorial Squad.
